The tourism operator shall organize and manage the tour operations as per following regulations:

(a) if the business is operated under the company, it shall be registered as a company at the Company Registration Department under the Directorate of Investment and Company Registration. If the business is formed as a cooperative organization, it shall be registered at the Department of Cooperative, Ministry of Cooperative;

(b) The office of the tourism operation business shall be separately established and hang the business signboard separately;

The business license applicant shall apply to the Regional Tourism Committee attached with the following information: 

(a) Inbound Tour and Domestic Tour

(i) Application for License;

(ii) copy of valid company registration certificate or cooperative registration certificate;

(iii) list of directors, office address and list of shareholding approved by the Directorate of Investment and Company Registration or Department of Cooperative;

(iv) employee list;

(v) scheduled tour programmes, prices and services plans (Tour Conditions and Agreement);

(vi) the resume and the copy of National Registration Card of the applicant;

(vii) 2 copies of passport size color photos taken within 6 months of the applicant;

(b) Outbound Tour 

(i) Application for License;

(ii) copy of valid business operation license for inbound tour and domestic tour;

(iii) scheduled tour programmes, prices and services plans (Tour Conditions and Agreement);

(iv) an affidavit of undertaking for the services to be provided by the company;

(v) one of the director from the company or a person who will take care for the business operation shall provide evidence or recommendation letter from the previous job for having at least two years experiences in the tourism industry;

(vi) 2 copies of passport size color photos taken within 6 months of the applicant;

(vii) the undertaking letter for complying the orders and directives issued by the respective departments for the religious trips.

The business license applicant must pay the license fee at the prescribed rate when the license is approved by the Regional Tourism Committee.

If the business operator is going to open a branch office apart from the head office, shall inform and get approval from the Regional Tourism Committee. The prescribed license fee shall be paid for each and every offices;

The service fee shall be paid according to the prescribed rate in the case of changing the name of company which was mentioned in the license, change of ownership, damage or loss of the license, movement of office across the Union Territory or Region or State;

The renewal of the license shall be applied to the Regional Tourism Committee within 60 days before the expiration date of the license. If the license renewal is applied after the expiry date, it shall pay the prescribed late fee per day.

The applicant for a business license renewal must pay the new license renewal fee at the rate set by the local tourism committee.

Application for a business license or renewal of the business license must be applied within 30 days from the date of obtaining the approval of the Regional Tourism Committee, and the business license shall be obtained. If it is withdrawn after that period, the prescribed late fee shall be paid per day.
